Evening Reflections

Better and Better – Palisades Park Sunset…

Tonight, at Palisades Park in Santa Monica, the sky decided it wasn’t finished. I arrived just as the sun was melting into the horizon, thinking I had caught the best of it. But then the colors deepened. Gold turned to amber. Amber softened into rose. And then came the streaks—long painted ribbons stretching across the sky like brushstrokes from heaven.

The leaning tree near the bluff looked like it was reaching toward the ocean, unwilling to miss a single second. People stood quietly along the railing, strangers united by something simple and powerful: awe.

There’s something about watching a sunset from above the water. You can see the layers unfold. You can feel the shift. You can sense the closing of one chapter and the gentle opening of another.

And just when I thought, this must be it… the sky kept getting better and better.

It felt like a reminder that beauty doesn’t always peak all at once. Sometimes it builds. Sometimes it surprises you. Sometimes it waits until the very end to glow the brightest. Tonight was one of those nights. I left carrying that color inside me. Grateful.

Evening Gratitude Thought:

Even when you think you’ve seen the best of it, life has a way of surprising you. Tonight, the sky kept getting better and better—and so can we. Grateful for reminders that light unfolds in layers.
