Evening Reflections
Be Kind on the Way Back…
Tonight at Fisherman’s Village, the marina felt extra alive in the gentlest way. The sunset stretched across the water in shades of orange and soft pink while pelicans gathered together along the dock, tucked into themselves for the evening like little feathered neighbors settling in for the night.
One pelican flew straight toward me, wings wide against the glowing sky, and for a second it felt like the evening itself was saying hello.
The moon was already shining above while a great blue heron took a slow walk across the dock like he had nowhere to be except exactly where he was. Nearby, sea lions rested side by side while two of them wrestled in the water, splashing around and having the absolute best time. Their joy was contagious.
A black-crowned night heron waited patiently near the sportfishing sign, hoping a fisherman might accidentally drop dinner. The boats rocked softly in the marina while one large ship slowly came in for the evening beneath the painted sky.
As I walked back to my car, I looked up and saw the “Be Kind” sign glowing quietly in the distance. It felt like the perfect ending to the night.
Sometimes the world whispers reminders exactly when we need them most.
“If it makes you happy, take the risk. Worst case, you learn. Best case, you change your life.”
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
