Morning Reflections

A Tornado of Love…

Some mornings don’t need sunshine to feel bright.

Today, the sky was wrapped in soft gray clouds, but the moment I stepped onto the Venice Pier, I heard the familiar flutter of wings. Within seconds, the birds were flying toward me from every direction. You can always tell where I’m standing because there’s a joyful little tornado of pigeons circling overhead, eager to say good morning. It never gets old. In fact, I look forward to it every single day.

The railing was lined with familiar faces, patiently waiting for breakfast. Honey Girl, true to form, skipped the line and came up from behind, ready for her peanuts. She’s sweet, determined, and definitely not a fan of sharing. She always makes me smile.

As I held out my hand, more birds landed around me, trusting, curious, and completely present in the moment. They remind me every day that happiness isn’t always found in big moments. Sometimes it’s found in the sound of wings, tiny footsteps on a railing, and a morning spent with friends who don’t say a word but somehow say everything.

One of the quotes I carried with me this morning read:

“Everything will happen for you all of a sudden, and you will be thankful you didn’t give up. Blessings are coming. Believe that.”

Standing there surrounded by my feathered friends, I couldn’t help but think that blessings often arrive long before we recognize them. Sometimes they come disguised as ordinary mornings that quietly become unforgettable memories.

Gray skies or blue skies, these birds always bring the sunshine.

I’m so grateful.

Capturing beauty sharing light.
