Evening Reflections

Big Waves, Big Feelings…

Tonight, I barely caught it. The sun was already dipping into the ocean when I reached the shoreline, just a sliver of light melting into the horizon. The sky was glowing amber beneath heavy storm clouds, and the waves were crashing hard — the kind of waves you feel in your chest.

Seagulls were flying toward me, riding the wind like they always do. Some rested calmly on the rocks, soaking in the last bit of light as if they knew how precious those final moments were. Others hovered in the air, suspended between motion and stillness.

Cormorants were flying north in strong, steady lines — purposeful and focused. I love that about them. Even in storm energy, they move with intention.

I held up my message against the glowing sky: “It’s okay to make a big deal out of things that feel big to you.”

The ocean doesn’t apologize for crashing loudly. The sky doesn’t dim itself to make anyone comfortable. Why should we?

As I walked away, I noticed silhouettes of people standing along the berm — quietly facing the horizon. No phones raised. Just stillness. Just gratitude.

It reminded me that even when we almost miss something… even when we only catch the last sliver of light… it’s still enough.

Some moments deserve to be felt deeply. Some waves deserve to crash loudly. Some sunsets deserve a big deal. And so do you. 💛

Evening Gratitude Thought:

I am grateful for the moments I almost missed but didn’t. For stormy skies that glow anyway. For big waves, bold feelings, and the courage to honor what feels big to me.
