Evening Reflections

Yellow Light and Gentle Goodbyes

Sunday night by the boats felt like a soft exhale. The sunset painted the sky in fading golds, and the hibiscus—bright yellow and reaching—seemed to lean into the last light of day. There’s something tender about flowers that stretch toward the sun, even as it slips away.

I stood there, watching the boats sway gently, the light shifting, and I thought about the day. Not just the beautiful parts, but the messy ones too. And I realized: there’s grace in reflection. Even when things weren’t perfect, looking back with honesty and care makes space for growth. It softens the edges. Pegleg didn’t show up tonight, but the hibiscus did. And that was enough. Life is a beautiful gift—especially when we take the time to say goodbye to the day with presence and love.

Evening Gratitude Thought

Grateful for yellow hibiscus reaching for the last light. For boats rocking gently in the sunset. For the quiet power of reflection—of looking back with kindness. Grateful for the chance to do better, and the grace to accept what was. Life is a gift, and every evening reminds me to unwrap it slowly.

Pink handwritten gratitude notes placed outdoors among green foliage and flowers during sunset.
