Evening Reflections

Chasing Sunsets in the Rain at Venice Beach…

Venice Beach, you gave me a golden goodbye today.

The sky unfurled in quiet gradients of citrus and rose, like a watercolor dream stretching over the Pacific. The waves crashed their steady applause, and for a moment, I was held in that gentle in-between—where day softens, and gratitude grows louder than any storm.

As I stepped off the pier and started walking back toward the road, the rain began to fall. Not sudden. Not harsh. Just enough to say hello, remember this feeling. The sun still shimmered behind the clouds, glowing through the mist like a promise refusing to fade.

I walked away soaked in raindrops, but full of light. It felt like nature’s perfect duet:

Rain cleanses. Sunshine heals.

One washes the world clean.

The other warms what’s left behind.

Even without planning it, the sky timed it just right—letting the sunset linger long enough to fill my heart before the rain followed me home.

Another gentle reminder that endings can sparkle too. That beauty doesn’t pause for perfect weather. And that we are always held, even in the gray.

Capturing beauty. Sharing light.

Grateful for the sky’s embrace today and every day.

With love and light,

April

Evening Gratitude Thought:

The rain waited for my goodbye, and the sun refused to leave early. I carry both with me—washed clean, warmed gently, held always. Thank you, Venice sky, for reminding me that contrast is part of beauty. Tonight, I’m grateful for the calm, the color, and every healing drop.

A flock of seagulls soars gracefully over the ocean waves during a vibrant sunset along the coastline.
